USGA Certified Golf Balls

🏌️‍♂️ Valspar Championship

Looks like the Valspar Championship had a surprise 👀 winner this year, as Taylor Moore (feels like TaylorMade is missing out on an opportunity here 🤔) outpaced the competition to secure his first PGA Tour win.

Even the great Jordan Spieth couldn't keep up with Moore's impressive performance on the course. While some may have been rooting for the big names to take home the trophy, it's always exciting to see an underdog come out on top. Congrats 👏 to Moore on his well-deserved victory! Who knows, maybe next year we'll see some new up-and-comers shaking things up in the world of golf.

Golf Pros may soon have to play with Wiffle balls…. kidding but the United States Golf Association and the R&A are proposing a new rule that would allow tours and tournaments the option to require elite men's players to use a golf ball that will be tested under modified launch conditions to curtail how far it is hit

Essentially as players have continued to hit the ball further, golf courses can only be modified so much to accommodate it. So they’re looking at ways to limit the shot distance

Don’t worry, this won’t impact your 150 yard slice off the tee ↗️ since it doesn’t apply to recreational balls.

Swing for the Fences

It’s All in the Hips

You know the saying… “You’re all arms and no hips”. As often as some may hear it, it’s worth repeating. So much of the golf swing is predicated on how well you move your hips. It’s where you get your power, it helps with impact, etc. Learning how to use the correct amount of hip rotation in the swing will improve your swing dramatically, even if you are struggling in other areas.

We could go on about the technicalities of hip rotation, but it’s probably better to leave it up to the pros. Check out these helpful videos below:

Product Overview: Simulator Edition 📊

It’s been a while since we’ve discussed a specific product, but this time we’re discussing one of the hottest things in golf: Simulators. Public golf simulators have been showing up all over the place. They are a blessing for those that live in winter states and gives those salivating to get on the course a taste of things to come. Even better than going to a public simulator is getting one of your own!

Now the home simulators aren’t the most practical thing for most of us being that they are very pricey and you need ample space to accommodate it (sorry honey, you can’t park in the garage anymore 🤷‍♂️). However, there are options out there for everyone and we’ve summarized the best of the best below:

Best Golf Simulator Overall: TrackMan Golf Simulator

  • Price = $49,995 💰

  • We’re getting straight into it and going with the best that is out there. TrackMan is known for being the preferred simulator for most PGA Tour players. It’s considered to be the most accurate 📊 and can be customized to fit any space within a home or training facility. If you can afford it, then more power to you. Just throw me an invite every once in a while.

Best Golf Simulator (For a Lot Cheaper): Uneekor SimKit - EYE XO Simulator

  • Price = $17,099 (10 ft enclosure) 💰

  • If the TrackMan is a little out of your price range, then try looking at Uneekor. Another great simulator for about half the cost . Still not cheap by any standard, but still offers a ton of value with accurate results. You still get that full-size simulator feel with either 10 or 12 ft enclosure options, as well as its Refine software, impact screen, hitting mat, etc. Seems like a no brainer if you are looking to save $33k and still have a simulator in the garage 😎

Best Golf Simulator For Flexibility and Rain: Garmin Approach R10

  • Price = $600 💰

  • Wow that was quite the drop off. Is the next one going to be free? Not quite, as the Garmin Approach R10 is more of a launch monitor than it is a simulator. Garmin is no stranger to the golf world, as they are pretty good at making quality GPS golf watches. It provides all of the basic swing analytics and more that most are looking for such as club path, club face, and launch angle 📐

  • The Approach R10 can be brought to the range and is entirely waterproof 💦. In addition, you can bring it back home with you and improve your swing there. Now it doesn’t come with an impact screen or hitting pad, but you can play virtual courses via a subscription. If needed, you could buy an impact screen and mirror the app to a larger TV or projector. In the end, not a bad way to create your own simulator without breaking the bank 🏦

Best Golf Simulator For Indoor/Outdoor Use: Bushnell Golf Launch Pro

  • Price = $4,010 (additional $3,500 for other benefits) 💰

  • Similar to the Garmin Approach R10, but better. The Bushnell Golf Launch Pro can function as a go-to launch monitor for any home golf simulator, as well as a portable monitor to bring to the range. It comes with one free year of the basic software package, but for an additional one-time cost of $3,499, you can unlock the simulator software that transforms the Launch Pro into a virtual practice range equipped with 10 simulated courses, as well as 3D ball flight tracking and data storage for up to eight players. You can also connect to a large TV or projector 📽️if you want to hit into an impact screen. What gives the Bushnell the edge over the Garmin is the accuracy it gives indoors, which apparently is much better than the Garmin. Another great option if you are looking for accuracy and not spend over $10k.

There are many more options out there and hopefully in the future simulators will become common place in the house like flat screen TVs 📺. One can only dream.

And if you are in the market for designing your mancave that includes a simulator, why not give AI a chance! We once again had some fun trying to see what AI could do in creating unique golf simulators. Check out these cool golf simulator concepts 😮:
